FRIDAY
July 29th, 2011
evening and night

5:00 pm
Mass and blessing of "The Plot" by Father Leo English, located outside the Community Centre, by the monument of where the 1st church was built in 1848. A collection will be taken up during mass for Branch Church Fund.

5:30 pm
Sirloin Tip Roast supper and dessert at Community Centre. $5.00 per person and $15.00 for a family of three or more.

Names must be given for the meal by Tuesday, July 26, in order to know how much food to prepare. Amanda Kerrivan (338-2015) and Danielle Nash (338-2407) will be taking names.

A slide show of ‘then’ and ‘now’ pics will be shown and ‘then’ and ‘now’ music and songs will be played.

6:30 pm
A Magic Show by David Coffey of Cuslett

7:30 pm
Local storytellers, singers, musicians, and dancers

10:30 pm
Dance to the music of ‘The Didhams’
Cover Charge $5.00.
19 years of age and over. Local entertainment during intermission.

SATURDAY
July 30, 2011
morning, afternoon, evening, and night

9:00 am -11:30 am
Breakfast at Community Centre
$5.00 per person for Juice, Tea or Coffee, Toast, Eggs, Beans, Bologna, and Hash Browns.

A slide show of ‘then’ and ‘now’ pics will be shown and ‘then’ and ‘now’ music and songs will be played.

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Children's and adult's activities will be held on the beach and outside the Community Centre (weather permitting) If not, activities will take place inside the Community Centre. No cover charge. Prizes will be issued to winners of each activity.

2:30 pm 5:30 pm
The Reg Power Memorial Skeet Shooting contest will be held on back of the beach (weather permitting) If not, rescheduled time will be announced. Three shots for $5.00. Prizes will be issued to 1st and 2nd place winners.

8:00 pm
Concert at the Community Centre
Performers include local singers, storytellers, dancers, musicians and special guests include Eleanor Dawson and Linda Byrne. An excellent program is lined up and a good time is assured for all in attendance! Feel free to come out and celebrate our heritage and culture with us and bring a friend or two along with you!
Cover Charge is $5.00 for Adults for concert and dance and $3.00 for Children for concert.

11:00 pm
Dance to the music of Brian and Tony Finn. Cover charge $5.00.
9 years of age and over. Local entertainment during intermission.

SUNDAY
July 31, 2011

Cold Plate supper will be available.

Display of Heritage Projects and photo albums of people and places ‘back then’; slide show of ‘then and now’ pics will be shown and ‘then and ‘now’ music and songs will be played.

2:30 pm - 2:30 am
Entertainment by solo and group performances include confirmation from:

Peter Barron, 92 year old accordion player from Freshwater;
By the Sea Youth Dancers;
The Baccalieu Trotters from North River;
The Barbours from Ferryland;
Gord Dalton and partner showcasing ‘The Jive’ (participants will be invited from the audience to take part in a training session once the dance is showcased);
Delf Maria Hohmann;
Michael Dobbin and son from Admirals Beach;
The Shore Boys;
Petey Conway & Jimmy Lake;
The Square Knot Dancers from Bell Island;
The Fatima Academy Accordion Group;
The Cold Burns;
Ray Walsh and family;
The Celtic Fiddlers and Singers;
The Didhams;
Route 100;
The O’Rourke’s.
Waiting on confirmation from a couple more groups. Details will follow.
Cover charge of $5.00 for 19 years of age and over
will cover all day and night.

**Please note the performers list for Sunday’s performance will not be in the order that they are named.

Also, anyone who is interested in doing a hike and a cookout on Saturday, July 23rd starting at 11 am to ‘Little Meadows’ in Branch (weather permitting) is asked to submit their names to Amanda Kerrivan at 338-2015 and Danielle Nash at 338-2407 in order for us to know how much food and refreshments to buy. A bonfire and fireworks will take place on back of the beach that night starting at 10 pm.**
